Parasite Eve…
Day 17 - Soundtrack I listen to the most.
Well, during the semester I found myself using all the ambient and background music from videogames to work faster (Listening to K-Pop works too.)
But most of the time I would be listening to Out Of Phase from Parasite Eve, this is the general theme when you’re roaming around the Police station and it’s actually really good for study. Setting it to repeat and then writing late at night with a coffee in hand was really weird but it helped rather than listen to anything else.
Day 5 - Soundtrack that best describes me.
See, this is getting a little complicated now, but I guess I’d really dig Parasite Eve as a soundtrack that would be it. Like this piece here The Theme of Aya is one of the songs in the soundtrack. The entire thing sets a mood up that’s really unique. But I guess it’s just the general sound of it, how everything’s simple yet it’s not.
Day 1 - Most Nostalgic Soundtrack - Parasite Eve.
I remember picking this up and being oblivious to every other RPG out there, I don’t think many people really have heard of it (Even when The 3rd Birthday came out, no one knew what it was.)
It was just a little bit amazing when I managed to tinker with my PSP so I could get my copy running again. (I know I have a copy stored up somewhere at home, but it’s pointless since my PS1 has been dead for several years.) I played it and finally finished the game right before The 3rd Birthday came out. It’s just a really eerie soundtrack at times but the battle system is one of my favourites.
Developed by Squaresoft and music by Yoko Shimomura it kinda lived in the shadows of FFVII and Vagrant Story. So many memories in this game. The track is called Primal Eyes and it’s the main theme when you boot up the game.
Haunting.
My study music. “Out of Phase” from the Parasite Eve soundtrack.
Wait 11 years.
Stay up till 4am for three nights finishing it up. Yeah, Parasite Eve: The Third Birthday came out a while back and I’ve finally found the free time to actually play it from start to finish. I’m currently on a second run playing it on insane even though the difficulty curve is a little brutal.
Oh back in the day, when Squaresoft was still around. It was a nice sunny day back in the homeland 1998. What do I do? I play video games. I was nine at the time, just saying inside playing with a controller, a CRT tv and my trusty Playstation with a flimsily broken lid, that forced me to put my games on top of the Playstation so that it wouldn’t open.
I don’t even remember finishing Parasite Eve, nor do I remember ever playing Parasite Eve 2. But hey, it was always a cool series just because of the fact that no one else got what in the world it was. I remember getting scared and frustrated when I had to fight a mutated cerberus, cause I mean seriously 1998 cutscenes were scary for nine year old me.
I stopped playing it for a while and picked up Final Fantasy Tactics till my Playstation literally burned. I’m not kidding, a power surge hit the house and the Playstation got fried and can’t run. My memory card from back then is somewhere in my boxes of junk. But what does it matter now. Because Parasite Eve is back. ^__^
Totally need to find old Playstation games again, and an old functional Playstation.
